Last night Sir Elton John performed at the Revlon Concert for the Rainforest at Carnegie Hall in New York, proudly wearing his incredibly crafted Theo Fennell Queen Elizabeth Brooch. Elton performed with Channing Tatum, alongside Meryl Streep, Jennifer Hudson and Bruno Mars at the event, which was organised by Trudie Styler.

Sir Elton wore his Theo Fennell Queen Elizabeth Brooch throughout the evening. Seven of the greatest craftsmen in the world came together to create the brooch which stemmed from Theo's idea to revise the old concept of the head and shoulders portrait brooch. 'I wanted to use a skull but have the person recognisable and the Virgin Queen seemed perfect for such a quintessentially Elizabethan idea.' Theo. The skull portrait of Queen Elisabeth is part of a collection of unique brooches entitled Sic Transit Gloria Mundi - which translates loosely as 'How fleeting are earthly glories'. However grand you are in life we all look pretty much the same in the end; but, even after life, some are more recognizable than others. This piece has utilised the extraordinary talents of quite unique craftsmen, working in Theo Fennell's workshop above the Showroom on the Fulham Road, to bring Theo's concept to reality. Like miniature cathedrals this series is the result of years of dedication and great artisans honing their skills, to allow them to be able to make such pieces.
